The heart and drive at Jamia Al Maarif are our Shaykh; Imam MA Karim and Shaykha; Dr SC Nasrullah. They are appreciated amongst the muslim community for having dedicated their lives wholeheartedly to working in the path of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) and the cause of Islam. Both Shaykh and Shaykha hold Ijazah (authority) in Spiritual Sciences from the respected Shaykh Professor Muhammad Nawaz Muhammadi and Shaykha Saddiqa Nawaz (May Allah shower His immense Blessings upon them). Through the blessings of this connection and by the grace of Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى), many have embraced Islam in their safe hands. Collectively, our respected Shaykh and Shaykha have been delivering invaluable Islamic knowledge to Muslims worldwide for 25-30 years. This includes but (not limited to) sessions of memorisation of the Holy Qur’an, Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir of the Holy Qur’an and their area of expertise; Sacred Knowledge (علم الاخلاص). Together our respected Shaykh and Shaykha have aided many individuals towards finding inner-peace through the observance of silent meditation – (Dhikrullah/Remembrance of Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى). Following their mentoring a substantial number of their spiritual students have expressed a significant impact upon their spiritual connection with Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى). Hence, many Students have become affiliated to our honourable teachers after perceiving their humble character as well as their close observation and application of the Holy Qur’an and sunnah throughout every aspect of their lives.
Imam MA Karim Is a Hafiz of the Holy Qur’an and Initially studied Hadith sciences at a prestigious Jamia In Pakistan, followed by the successful completion of a Master’s degree in Mass communication which included a deeply motivational thesis titled “Qur’an and Effective Communication”. Our Honourable Shaykh has often had various articles published notably in the “Cambridge Independent” (UK) which have primarily acted as a means of spreading awareness about the righteous religion of Islam. Imam Karim is a regular presenter on Iqra TV and has a series of many remarkable programmes including the ever stimulating “Purification of Soul” and “Al Balagh”. As the Imam and Khateeb at Abu Bakr Mosque (Cambridge), Shaykh Karim has sincerely reflected upon the requirements and responsibilities of the role and has earnestly applied himself in actively promoting community unity, peace, respect and tolerance for people of all backgrounds, faiths and ethnicities. It can be agreed upon that each of these aspects are vital requirements in ensuring a peaceful environment in today’s society. Shaykh Karim has been teaching Islamic Sciences for the past 30 years and is currently pursuing his research further in spiritual sciences:‘Tasawuf – An inner dimension of Islam’.
Dr SC Nasrullah prior to gaining a PhD in Medical Sciences from the University of London (UOL) in 2012, Shaykha Nasrullah was in employment as a lecturer in one of Pakistan’s top universities. Additionally our beloved Shaykha has served as a teaching fellow at the Russell Group University, UK for approximately 10 years and at present is a fellow of the British Higher Education Academy (HEA) in UK. As a research scientist, Shaykha Nasrullah has published a variety of peer reviewed journal articles and has attained countless research awards. Furthermore our respected Shaykha has studied with various Islamic professionals, notably Professor Muhammad Ramadhan which has resulted in successfully attaining a wealth of knowledge in fundamentally essential Islamic subjects such as Seerah, Fiqh, Hadith, Arabic, Qur’an and Tafseer. Shaykha SC Nasrullah has participated in various contests including recitation of the holy Qur’an, conducting Islamic presentations and has successfully earned awards and distinctions along the route. Following a successful career, our respected Shaykha has eventually decided to dedicate all her time to dispense and educate people in Islamic knowledge and spirituality. As a result of her devotion and dedication there has been an increase in the number of ladies embracing Islam with her. This in turn resulted in the design and launch of our very popular and successful Revert Mentoring Programme. Shaykha Nasrullah is currently working towards expanding our services and authoring various resources to help specifically educate Muslim women and youth. Shaykha Nasrullah has been teaching Islamic sciences and serving the Muslim community for the past 25 years; and is the initiator of various outstanding services currently provided by Jamia Al Maarif
During the global pandemic Shaykh MA Karim and Shaykha SC Nasrullah have jointly continued to be a source of strength and light in many homes nationally as well as globally through their online classes and lectures for all those seeking Islamic knowledge and comfort through Qur’an and hadiths during these hard times.
